Comma splices and run-on sentences
Aturan
Two complete sentences cannot be joined with only a comma (comma splice) or with nothing (run-on). Use a period, a semicolon, or a comma plus a conjunction.
Dua kalimat lengkap tidak boleh digabung hanya dengan koma (comma splice) atau tanpa apa pun (run-on). Gunakan titik, titik koma, atau koma ditambah konjungsi.
✔ Benar: The data were incomplete; the team repeated the survey.

→ Perbaikan: Replace the comma with a semicolon or a period.
Tips: Check both sides of a comma: if each side could stand alone as a sentence, a comma alone is wrong.
