A colon must follow a complete sentence. It introduces a list, an explanation or an example that explains what came before.

✔ Benar: The study had one clear goal: to measure ocean warming.
✘ Salah: The study measured: temperature, salinity and depth.
→ Perbaikan: Remove the colon: "The study measured temperature, salinity and depth."
Tips: Ask: is the part before the colon a complete sentence? If not, do not use a colon.
