A colon must follow a complete sentence. It introduces a list, an explanation or an example that explains what came before.
콜론 앞에는 반드시 완전한 문장이 와야 합니다. 콜론은 앞 내용을 설명하는 목록, 설명, 예를 이끕니다.
✔ 맞는 문장: The study had one clear goal: to measure ocean warming.
✘ 틀린 문장: The study measured: temperature, salinity and depth.
→ 고치는 법: Remove the colon: "The study measured temperature, salinity and depth."
요령: Ask: is the part before the colon a complete sentence? If not, do not use a colon.
