Words such as "each", "every", "one of", "neither" and collective nouns like "team" usually take a singular verb. With "either…or" and "neither…nor", match the verb to the nearer subject.
each, every, one of, neither와 team 같은 집합명사는 보통 단수 동사를 씁니다. either…or, neither…nor는 동사와 가까운 주어에 맞춥니다.
✔ 맞는 문장: Each of the samples was tested twice.
✘ 틀린 문장: Each of the samples were tested twice.
→ 고치는 법: "Each" is singular, so use "was".
요령: "One of the…", "each of the…" and "the number of…" are singular; "a number of…" is plural.
