Запятая перед сочинительным союзом
Commas with coordinating conjunctions
Правило
When "and, but, or, so, yet, for, nor" join two complete sentences, put a comma before the conjunction. Do not use a comma when the conjunction joins only two verbs or phrases.
Когда and, but, or, so, yet, for, nor соединяют два полных предложения, ставьте запятую перед союзом. Если союз соединяет лишь два глагола или словосочетания, запятая не нужна.
✔ Верно: The plan was simple, but it worked.
✘ Неверно: The plan was simple but, it worked.
→ Исправление: Place the comma before "but", not after it.
Совет: Comma + FANBOYS joins two sentences. No comma when the second part has no subject (e.g. "She tested and confirmed it").
