Câu hoàn chỉnh và câu cụt

Complete sentences and fragments

Quy tắc

A sentence needs a subject and a main (finite) verb and must express a complete idea. A group of words without these is a fragment.

Một câu cần có chủ ngữ và động từ chính (có thì) và phải diễn đạt ý trọn vẹn. Cụm từ thiếu những yếu tố này là câu cụt (fragment).

✔ Đúng: The museum, which opened in 1990, attracts many visitors.

✘ Sai: The museum, which opened in 1990 and attracts many visitors.

→ Cách sửa: Remove "and" so that "attracts" becomes the main verb.

Mẹo: Cover the extra information between commas. If what remains has no main verb, it is a fragment.
