Finite and non-finite verbs

Quy tắc

Mệnh đề cần động từ được chia thì. Dạng -ing và "to + động từ" tự nó không làm động từ chính được.

✔ Đúng: The new law requires all buildings to have solar panels.

✘ Sai: The new law requiring all buildings to have solar panels.

→ Cách sửa: Change "requiring" to "requires" so the sentence has a main verb.

Mẹo: If the sentence has no other main verb, choose the option with tense (e.g. "requires", "required").
