A semicolon joins two complete, closely related sentences. Both sides of a semicolon must be able to stand alone.

✔ 正确： Bees pollinate crops; without them, harvests would fall.
✘ 错误： Bees pollinate crops; which helps farmers.
→ 改正： Use a comma: "Bees pollinate crops, which helps farmers."
技巧: Treat a semicolon like a period. If one side is not a complete sentence, the semicolon is wrong.
