限定动词与非限定动词

Finite and non-finite verbs

规则

A clause needs a finite verb (a verb with tense). "-ing" forms and "to + verb" cannot be the main verb on their own.

分句需要有时态的限定动词。-ing形式和“to+动词”本身不能充当谓语。

✔ 正确: The new law requires all buildings to have solar panels.

✘ 错误: The new law requiring all buildings to have solar panels.

→ 改正: Change "requiring" to "requires" so the sentence has a main verb.

技巧: If the sentence has no other main verb, choose the option with tense (e.g. "requires", "required").
